WHO WE ARE

Arif‑Generation is a community‑led organisation founded by people with lived refugee and migrant experience. We understand the cultural, social and practical barriers our communities face because they are our own. Our work focuses on supporting refugees, migrant backgrounds, minoritised ethnic groups and others who are overlooked or invisible to mainstream NHS services.

We create safe spaces, build trust and raise awareness of stigmatised and neglected health conditions such as HIV, sexual and reproductive health, and mental wellbeing—so individuals feel confident seeking help early. By empowering communities to access NHS services without fear or stigma, we help reduce health inequalities and strengthen collective wellbeing.

Vission

To see people from migrant backgrounds and minoritised ethnic communities live healthy, confident and empowered lives, free from the burden of untreated or stigmatised health conditions. We envision communities where culturally safe information, early access to NHS services and trust in healthcare replace fear, misconceptions and invisibility—strengthening wellbeing, dignity and full participation in British society.

Mission

To support refugees, people from migrant backgrounds and minoritised ethnic communities by providing culturally safe awareness, early‑access support and signposting on stigmatised and neglected health conditions. Our mission is to empower communities who are often invisible to mainstream NHS services to understand their health, seek care confidently, and build wellbeing, independence and a sense of belonging in British society.

We raise awareness about sexual and reproductive health in communities where these topics are often taboo. Our aim is to create safe, welcoming spaces where young people can access accurate information and seek NHS care without fear, stigma or judgment.

Combat Isolation

We help communities combat isolation by creating safe, welcoming spaces where people can connect, share experiences and build supportive relationships. Through outreach, workshops and community events, we reduce loneliness, strengthen belonging and ensure no one feels invisible or alone.

STI prevention initiatives through youth participation

1Sexual Health Education
We conduct culturally sensitive and age-appropriate sexual health education programs. These programs are designed to resonate with Refugees and migrant communities, addressing their unique cultural contexts and needs.
We implement workshops, seminars, and peer-led initiatives in community settings. These interactive sessions will provide young people with the knowledge and skills they need to make informed decisions about their future.
advocating for and facilitating access to PrEP for individuals at high risk of HIV infection. This preventive medication is a crucial tool in reducing new HIV infections.

Coordinating Youth Focused Services

Arif-Generation coordinates four program models based on program goals and the needs of specific youth cohorts: (1) Service for secondary school students, (2) Homeless young adults , (3) Youth focused mental wellbeing programs, and (4) Service programs for HIV affected youth.
